The Wheel turns again, and in August we come to Lughnasadh, the first harvest. The sun still rides high in the sky, but there is a softness to it’s power now. The heat no longer blazes with Spring’s ambition. Instead, it simmers, ripens and grows.
Lughnasa (loo-na-sa) is the time of year to honor fruits of our labor.
The Earth is generous, but she expects your hands to work with hers. This is the time of reaping—not just the grain, but the consequences of your choices. The seeds you planted months ago, with hope in your heart or fear in your gut, are rising now. Some will nourish you. Some may need to be let go.
This month, focus energy on: Gratitude, abundance, hard work, sun energy, preparation for transition, balance between joy and slowing down.
